Memo
Memo is your digital sticky-note board — a fast, flexible way to capture anything that matters before it slips away. Whether you're jotting down an idea in a meeting, saving a link for later, or securely storing a password, Memo keeps everything within reach on organised boards.
Memo is also where bookmarks live: Colistor no longer has a separate Bookmarks app, because a saved link is just a memo of type URL. See Features.
Who Is Memo For?
Memo is for anyone who needs to capture information quickly and find it again without digging through folders or files:
- Professionals who collect ideas, links, and notes throughout the day
- Teams who share reference information inside a shared workspace (circle)
- Anyone who wants a lightweight, secure place to store sensitive data like passwords or credentials

Getting Started in 3 Steps
- Create a board — Click New Board, give it a meaningful name (e.g. "Work Ideas" or "Personal"), and save.
- Set it as your default — Open the board menu and mark it as your Default Board so Quick Memo always lands there.
- Add your first memo — Click New Memo, choose a type, type your content, and save.
That's it! Your first sticky note is ready.
For a detailed walkthrough, see the Getting Started guide.
Tips
- Use Quick Memo constantly. The Quick Memo button is always visible in the sidebar — one click, type, done. No need to navigate to the board first.
- Lean on your default board. Keep one board as your inbox for quick capture, then move or copy memos to more specific boards when you have time.
- Choose the right type. Picking URL, Email, Phone, or Address instead of plain Text unlocks clickable links and direct app integrations.
- Don't bother with a title for quick notes. The title field is optional — for fast captures, just write the content and hit save.
Troubleshooting
The "Reveal Password" button isn't working. You need READ access to the circle the board belongs to. Check with your circle admin if you think you should have access.
My Default Board isn't being used by Quick Memo. Only one board can be the default per circle. Open the board you want and check whether the Default flag is set — another board in the same circle might have claimed it.
Password memos show 8 bullet dots instead of the value. This is intentional. The encrypted value is never shown in the list view. Click the memo to open it, then click Reveal to decrypt and display the password.
